If
you arrived at this page, you are already
aware that the Lantern Room has moved to
it's own domain at "www.LanternRoom.com".
The big step was taken for a number of reasons;
to get more disk space on the server, to
hopefully improve listings on the search
engines which give a higher priority to
.com sites than to home pages and to allow
me to promote the sale of "stock images".
With it's own domain, the ISP can be changed
without changing the site URL or the Keeper's
e-mail address.
As
part of the move, the directory structure
of the site was completely revised to make
it easier to maintain. If anyone has
direct links to any of the pages they will
have to be updated.
I've
tried to catch all the errors but, with
as many pages as there are, there may still
be a few goofs and I hope if anyone finds
them they will take the time to let the
Keeper
know.
Scotland
pages have been added and the pages on Wales
and Ireland
have been redone with many additions but
they all need the statistics and some text
added. The weather on the trip to Ireland
was lousy and, unfortunately, it shows in
the pictures. Pages on the purchase of Reprints
and Stock Images have been added.
Some
scans of the East Coast lighthouses have
been redone.
I
don't plan to go to frames or anything that
would require Windows 9x or better and late
version browsers as many of my visitors
are in countries where large monitors, large
harddrives and fast connections are probably
rare.
The
planned trip to New Zealand has been put
off until November 2001. The Keeper will
be traveling the entire West coast of the
US, Cape Cod and vicinity and the Upper
Michigan Peninsula over this summer. As
time permits the covered bridge images from
a trip to the New England States last fall
will be added as well as some new Steam
Train images. The tutorial on Fresnel Lens
has proven to be popular so I hope to expand
on that too with some new images. A site
face-lift is planned and this page is an
example of the new style but with close
to 500 pages to edit, it's going to take
quite some time to get it all done.
