Gingerbread, gingerbread. The lighthouse was built in 1874 from lumber shipped around the tip of South America, it's design is unique among American Lighthouses. No longer used as a lighthouse, it serves as the residence of the San Pedro Parks Superintendant so you can't go inside but you can picnic in the surrounding park and watch the boat traffic in and out of L.A. Harbor. Whale watch boats out of San Pedro give a good view of the lighthouse from the ocean.
